A Russian air attack on Kharkiv killed six people and injured 59 others, including three children, Ukrainian authorities said.

The October 5 strike hit residential areas of Kharkiv, a major northeastern Ukrainian city located roughly 30 kilometers from the Russian border.

Reuters reported that three bombs were used in the attack and that apartment buildings, warehouses and other structures were damaged. Emergency crews searched through debris following the strikes.

Additional Russian attacks were reported in other parts of Ukraine, including Zaporizhzhia and Sloviansk.

Kharkiv has endured repeated missile, drone and aerial-bomb attacks since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

The casualty figures and details of the attack are based on Ukrainian officials and reporting from the scene. WE PNW has not independently verified battlefield claims.
