VANCOUVER, Wash. — November 4, 2026. Clark County voters considered two separate measures on public safety and jail funding. Proposition 12 would authorize about $366 million in bonds for justice facilities, including expansion of the county jail.

The first tally released November 3 showed 83,452 votes in favor (53.04%) and 73,880 against (46.96%). Support was below the required threshold.

Staffing and operations

Proposition 13 would raise the property tax levy limit to fund public safety and justice personnel and operations. The first count showed 75,255 votes in favor (47.94%) and 81,718 against (52.06%).

The bond would finance facilities, while the levy would fund staff and services. The results will shape the county’s decisions about both construction and ongoing costs.

Counting continues

After the initial release, the county elections office estimated about 68,000 ballots already received still needed processing. Eligible mail ballots could also continue arriving. The county is scheduled to certify results November 24.
