Portland Parks & Recreation’s 23rd annual No Ivy Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, the City of Portland announced. Volunteers can work in the morning at sites around Portland and the metro area, including Granada Woods Natural Area in Aloha and Spring Park Natural Area in Milwaukie. The day also includes an Explore Your Park Series event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The City says volunteers have removed nearly 250,000 square feet of ivy from Portland parks and natural areas since 2011. A Know-Ivy Crafting Workshop is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at PP&R’s Rice School; advance registration is required.
