Seattle’s Show Up, Seattle! Day of Service brought nearly 1,600 volunteers into projects across the city on September 26. The city counted 143 events overall: 110 were open to public volunteers, while 33 were private. That mix made the annual effort a combination of public opportunities and separately organized projects.

The Seattle Department of Transportation’s Urban Cleanup Team reported collecting more than 10,000 pounds of waste and debris left by volunteer hosts. The city’s figures offer a snapshot of the day’s scale, spanning both organized events and cleanup work. They do not break down the volunteer count or collected material by individual event.
