Portland Police Bureau reported the results of several operations conducted since June 2026 near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
According to the bureau, 44 people in total were arrested or cited on allegations of buying sex and related offenses.
The operations involved the police human trafficking unit, county law enforcement, federal agencies and organizations that assist people affected by exploitation.
Police also reported 555 contacts with people believed to be involved in selling sex between April and October. Support and assistance from service organizations were offered in 139 cases.
Police said the work was organized in response to neighborhood complaints and reports of activity linked to sexual exploitation.
Law enforcement officials said they plan to continue the operations and cooperation with victim service organizations.
