The City of Portland says work is scheduled to start Oct. 22 on the NW 16th Avenue bike lane between NW Flanders and SW Alder streets. Contractors for the Portland Bureau of Transportation will install concrete separators in place of the existing plastic posts. The city says people traveling through the area should expect short delays, dust and noise.
According to the City of Portland, the street will stay open to pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles while work is underway. Bike-lane detours are likely, the city says, so people riding through should watch for route changes.
The City of Portland estimates the project will take about a month and says weather could change the schedule. The city says the work is funded through PBOT General Transportation Revenue.
