The Columbian reported that Tracy Noblit lost her place to stay in August when her daughter’s landlord said the arrangement broke the lease. She had nowhere else to turn, the newspaper reported, and had been sober for 10 years when she started sleeping outdoors. On Oct. 15, Housing Solutions Center staff told her a shelter room was ready and she could move in that day. Noblit told The Columbian the move made her life better, though adapting to shelter living was difficult.

The Columbian also reported that Clark County recorded Washington’s highest eviction rate per resident for a third straight year. In 2025, according to the newspaper, over half of the county’s unhoused residents were facing homelessness for the first time.
