Portland Fire & Rescue says it responded to two significant fires in northeast Portland within six hours. At an apartment complex in Hazelwood, occupants were safely outside after crews searched the interior; the department reported no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
Just after 1:30 a.m., crews responded to a commercial facility in Cully used to fabricate and repair semi-trucks and trailers. The department said firefighters extinguished the blaze, saved more than half the building and kept it from reaching a row of homes to the west. No injuries were reported, and the department’s Fire Investigations Unit began investigating the cause.
