Vancouver officials agreed Monday to move about $2 million originally set aside for annexation-related staffing and consulting, The Columbian reported. The decision followed councilors’ October 26 direction to City Manager Lon Pluckhahn to remove items from his proposed $2.3 million budget request.

The proposed reallocation would put the money toward public safety and city park maintenance and help offset future deficits, if the proposed 2027–28 budget is approved, according to The Columbian.
