Downtown Vancouver’s Main Street reconstruction is complete — months ahead of its original schedule.

The $26 million project rebuilt Main Street between 5th and 15th streets and was originally expected to continue into spring 2027.

The City of Vancouver says the work is now finished.

The project included safety improvements, infrastructure upgrades and changes intended to support long-term economic activity downtown.

City officials describe the reconstruction as one of Vancouver’s largest infrastructure projects.

A public reopening celebration is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, on the Kiggins Block at 1011 Main Street.

The reconstruction had been discussed and planned for decades before construction began.
